Isao Sakurai has more than 14 years of experience in the various HR areas at a Japanese large company and U.S. companies both in the States and in Japan -- 17 years of experience in the banking industry with 4.5 years in the United States in total.

Duties/Achievements:
His duties head covers all the local HSBC businesses including banking, securities and asset management businesses where he has developed a comprehensive “People Strategy” to transform HSBC Japan to a ‘stretch and performance culture’ organization.

Before heading up HR at HSBC, Isao Sakurai was the HR Director, Cisco Systems KK reforming the HR department to be more trusted strategic business partner and tackled long standing unsolved issues such as, overtime issue, revision of work rules, temp/contractor issue, disabled hiring, etc.

Other notables include being the HR Director (leader) for GE Capital Consumer Finance Limited and the Senior Vice President and Head of Office of the President, Sanwa Bank

Hajime Nakajima

Hajime Nakajima is a Senior Adviser at Kepner-Tregoe Japan. He graduated from Waseda University, and after beginning his career in the human resources division at Furukawa Electric, he was instrumental in the establishment of Kepner-Tregoe’s Japan office in 1974. Mr. Nakajima consults leading Japanese companies on creating and implementing management strategies using Kepner-Tregoe’s unique problem-solving and decision-making techniques. His specialty is in developing international strategy, and his personal clients include Honda and Sony. Currently, Mr. Nakajima is focusing his energy on the cultivation of superlative human resource capability. An external director and advisor of several companies, and a committee member of the Business Research Institute, Mr. Nakajima is also a director of the International Management Association.

Timothy Langley, esq.

Tim Langley is an international attorney and Japan-based consultant.  He has more than 35 years of experience in Japan.

Mr. Langley has been chief lawyer to Apple Computer Japan, to General Motors (Asia Pacific); and he has advised countless large and small companies in their attempts to build a larger presence in Japan.

Langley’s background in corporate and dual-jurisdiction (US – Japanese) legal issues is complimented by a unique specialization in diplomacy and international political affairs.  He is well-known for advising and assisting foreign missions, foreign-capital  companies and joint-ventures as well as high-profile individuals in their regulatory affairs efforts with the government of Japan.  Langley was the first non-Japanese to work inside the Japanese Parliament, a position entered into from Tohoku University law school in 1982.  Langley published his first book on Japanese politics in Japanese (Gaijin seiji hisho – Dai-ichi-go, Sankei Press, 1983).

Mr. Langley is a graduate of the University of Georgia (1976), he holds post-graduate degrees from Tohoku University Graduate School of Law, Georgetown University Graduate School of Foreign Service (MSFS), Georgetown Law School (JD) and the University of Denver School of Law (LLM).
